🎉 RankCups Has Officially Launched
Welcome to RankCups — a new platform where anyone can create and play rankings, quizzes, and tier lists.
After months of development, testing, redesigns, balancing gameplay systems, and building the core platform from the ground up, RankCups is finally live.
Whether you want to:
- rank your favorite anime characters,
- challenge friends in fast-paced quizzes,
- create community tier lists,
- or discover weirdly competitive internet debates…
…you can now do it all in one place.
This post also works as a quick introduction guide for new users, so if you’re new here, this is the perfect place to start.
🧠 What Is RankCups?
RankCups is a browser-based platform where players can create competitions, play community-made games, compare results, climb leaderboards, and share challenges with friends.
The platform currently supports three game modes:
- Rankings
- Quizzes
- Tier Lists
Each mode plays differently and creates different kinds of community results.
⚔️ Ranking Mode — Choose Between Two
In Ranking mode, players are shown two items at a time and must decide which one is better. Over time, your choices build a full ranking based on your preferences.
Examples:
- Best Anime Villains
- Strongest Superheroes
- Most Dangerous Jobs
- Best Fast Food Chains
The fun part is that simple decisions quickly become surprisingly difficult. You may think your choices are obvious… until the game forces you to compare two favorites directly.
🧩 Quiz Mode — Fast Answers Matter
Quiz mode is based on hidden facts, statistics, dates, or values. You’ll see two options and must answer questions like:
- Which country has a larger population?
- Which movie earned more money?
- Which event happened earlier?
But speed matters too. Fast correct answers earn more points, meaning leaderboards become highly competitive.
🏆 Tier List Mode — Build Your Own S–F Rankings
Tier Lists let you place items into S (best), A, B, C, D, or F (worst) tiers.
You can fully customize your own rankings and later compare them against the community average. This mode is perfect for games, music, food, characters, brands, or anything people love debating online.
🌍 Discover Community-Made Games
The Discover page is the main hub of RankCups. Browse trending games, search by keyword, filter by category, sort by newest or hottest, and explore community creations.
Categories currently include topics like anime, gaming, movies, music, food, sports, geography, jobs, and more. New categories and contests are being added constantly.
👤 Create Your Own Contests
One of the biggest goals of RankCups is making content creation simple. From My contests, open Create contest and you are on your way:
- Choose a game mode — Ranking, Quiz, or Tier List — and set the basics: title, description, category, and an optional cover image.
- For quizzes, pick how items are compared (numbers or dates), the question players see, and how long they have per round. You can also add an optional play password to keep a contest private.
- Add at least two items. Give each a name and description, upload images where you want them, and for quizzes fill in the hidden comparison value on every item.
- Publish when you are ready. RankCups runs a quick automatic content review; once it passes, your contest goes live on Discover.
- Share your contest link, play it yourself, and challenge friends to beat your score or ranking.
You can keep editing details and items while the contest is still a draft, then return anytime after publish to see how the community is playing.
🔥 Challenge Your Friends
After completing a game, you can share your results and challenge others to beat you. For example:
- “Can you score higher than me?”
- “Would you rank these differently?”
- “Can you beat my quiz accuracy?”
This makes RankCups especially fun in Discord communities, friend groups, classrooms, streams, and social media discussions.
📈 Competitive Features
RankCups already includes:
- leaderboards,
- player statistics,
- community averages,
- trending systems,
- hot score systems,
- profile pages,
- XP progression (expanding soon),
- and public creator profiles.
More competitive and social systems are planned for future updates.
🚀 Why We Built RankCups
A lot of websites let you create polls or tier lists, but very few combine rankings, quizzes, tier lists, competitive scoring, community statistics, and social challenge systems into one platform.
We wanted to build something that feels competitive, social, replayable, and easy to create content for — something between trivia games, community rankings, and internet debate culture.
